What to Expect?

Sinhgad Raigad Trek is also called as a jumbo trek, owing to the trekking route it crosses in the Sahayadri Range. Sinhagad especially is a popular trekking spot readily accessible from Pune. Located at the height of 1,311m reaching this point will not be an issue.

Therefore, you commence from the Sinhagad base, and this will take about an hour and a half to reach the summit. Proceed towards Rajgad trek right after you have your breakfast. At around 2 pm, halt near Gunjavane and take rest. By the end of the day, you will reach Paal Khind at the end of Rajgad trek where you can retire for the night.

In the next day, after completing the breakfast, start towards Torna and by 10 am, you should arrive at the highest summit of the trek. From Torna, trek further to reach Bhatti via Valnjai Darwaja and enjoy the view from the hilltop. Finally, trek towards Mohari and end the day. The route between Torna and Bhatti crosses steep roads, and despite just taking 2 hours, this would make things extremely tiring.

On the last leg of your trek, get ready for more adventure. It is a 6-hour long trek, and you will reach Paane via Boratyachi Naal. Once you cross this, you will be reaching Raigad Fort by 3 pm. Spend some time around the historic fort and start descending one of the treacherous steps towards Mahad, is a challenge by itself. You should reach Mahad to conclude your hike.

The Raigad trek is ideal for those who love mountaineering through the strenuous routes and hike for as much as 5 to 6 hours at a stretch. It has awe-inspiring views of high altitude and imposing forts all around making the route more scenic.
